Calipso is an Argentinean company that develops and sells enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. It has been in the market since 1993, and has operations in different Latin American countries, Mexico, and Spain. Its main offices are located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It has 120 employees, while its integrators partners’ network involves 300 consultants and integrators. In 1998, Calipso got the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9000:1994 certificate, renewed later on to ISO 9000:2000.
Calipso is an ERP platform based on Calipso
Biframe technology. Biframe is a business object framework with a functional
object layer, which provides common elements for any software management, and a
technological layer, which isolates the functional layer from the technological
aspects (database engine, visibility, etc.). The functional layer includes
objects that represent entities, transactions, engines (tax engines, workflow,
states, etc.), and tools. A third layer, over the Biframe, provides the
enterprise's business processes via transactions, workflow, regulations,
reports, online analytical processing (OLAP) cubes definitions, and
other elements available from the Biframe.
