In the early 1970’s, Bi-Tech (from Binary Technology) was born. In 1995 Bi-Tech was acquired by SunGard Data Systems (a NYSE public company), becoming SunGard Bi-Tech. On August 11, 2005, SunGard Data Systems, the parent company of SunGard Bi-Tech, was purchased by a group of seven private equity firms, becoming a privately held corporation.
